Jack "Goose" Givens is a big name to the old school Kentucky fans. Givens was the star of the 1978 Championship team. Scoring 41 points in that game against Duke and becoming the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four means that when the Goose speaks we should at least listen. Givens recently had an interview with Larry Vaught on Vaughtsviews.com and he gave his opinion of the one-and-done rule.
“I am not a fan of the one-and-done situation. I am a Kentucky fan, so I want guys to stay longer so I can see them pay more. It is probably a selfish thing on my part,” Givens said. “Can you imagine how good the Anthony Davis (2012 national championship team) would be if they had stayed together three years. That is a championship every year."
Givens also told Vaught that he would much rather have these guys than to play against them.
The two-year rule was topic of discussion and Givens gave his view on it as well. You can read his thoughts on that and much more by going to Vaughtsviews.com.
