Now the mystery has had been put to ease just a little bit. The person to help ease the mystery is none other than former Kentucky head coach - Joe B. Hall. On his radio show recently, Hall claimed he spoke with Willie Cauley-Stein at a recent practice and gave the skinny on Willie and the injury.
Hall said he'd recently asked Cauley-Stein at a UK practice about the extent of his injury. The junior big man told Hall he'd had a metal plate and three screws inserted to stabilize his ankle.
Kyle Tucker - of the Courier-Journal, first reported the statements from Hall. Tucker caught up with a spokesperson for Kentucky and is response to Hall's comments were encouraging for the season comimg up.
"Both Willie and Trey could probably play if they really wanted to, but I'm not taking a chance on either kid."
