Here is what ESPN is saying:
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops landed a commitment from four-star safetyMarcus Walker out of Lake Wales, Florida, on Friday. Walker is the No. 16-ranked safety in the ESPN 300 and the No. 196 player overall.
In addition to Walker, the Wildcats also landed a commitment from three-star cornerback Kei Beckham.
The Wildcats are now up to 14 total commits and all are ranked as three-star prospects or higher.
What it means: Stoops, the former FSU assistant, used his Florida coaching ties to help land Walker. It didn't hurt that Walker's high school teammate, Luke Hiers, is also committed to the Wildcats. After a tough season on the field last year, it was important for Kentucky to get some recruiting momentum before the start of the upcoming season and Kentucky has done just that.
