In five years Cal has produced an Elight Eight, then a Final Four, After that a NCAA Championship, only to get beat in the NIT the following year, and then to make the NCAA Championship game in the fifith year. Biggest recent recruiting wins: Two recent recruiting wins come to mind, both in the 2014 class. Power forward Trey Lyles, No. 6 in the ESPN 100, picked the Wildcats after narrowing his choices to Kentucky and Louisville. Shooting guard Devin Booker, No. 18 overall and whose father, Melvin, was the 1994 Big Eight Player of the Year at Missouri, picked the Wildcats over a number of other marquee programs, including Florida, Michigan State, Michigan and his father's alma mater.
